Instructions:

Clear the board by matching pairs of cards that add up to 13. Assign values as follows: aces count as 1, jacks as 11, queens as 12, and kings as 13. A king may be removed on its own.

Description

Pyramid Solitaire challenges players to clear a triangular arrangement of cards by pairing them strategically. The layout consists of seven rows, with the top row holding a single card and each subsequent row adding one more, up to seven at the base—52 cards in total, forming a classic pyramid shape. Face-down cards are revealed gradually as you progress. The objective is straightforward: eliminate every card from the structure. To do this, match any two exposed cards—either on the pyramid or from your available draws—that sum exactly to 13. Face-value numbers (2 through 10) count as their printed amount, aces equal 1, jacks 11, queens 12, and kings 13. Kings stand alone, removable without a partner since they hit the target value solo. Available cards include those at the bottom of each row and any uncovered ones above removed pairs. As options dwindle, turn to the draw pile, typically seven cards placed aside. Flip the top card to create a working area of up to three face-up selections, which you can pair among themselves or with pyramid exposures. Success demands foresight; early matches in upper rows unlock lower levels, but poor choices can stall progress. Empty the pyramid before exhausting draws for a clean win, or extend play by reshuffling if house rules allow. This blend of luck and calculation keeps sessions engaging, rewarding patience and keen observation over rushed decisions. With practice, you'll master spotting those perfect 13s amid the shuffle.
